Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, processing accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with day-to-day accounting and administrative activities. The role ensures that company financial records are properly documented, organized, and compliant with applicable accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain daily accounting transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
  • Prepare and maintain books of accounts, journals, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare invoices, billing statements, official receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Monitor and reconcile cash, bank accounts, customer accounts, and supplier balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and accounting schedules.
  • Maintain organized and complete accounting files and supporting documents.
  • Monitor employee reimbursements, petty cash, and other company disbursements.
  • Assist in payroll preparation and related accounting records, when required.
  • Assist with government-related accounting requirements and documentation, including BIR filings and other statutory reports.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, banks, and other departments regarding accounting-related concerns.
  • Assist during internal and external audits by providing requested documents and schedules.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial information.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; accounting-related vocational or college-level qualifications may also be considered.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting-related work is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Familiarity with BIR requirements and Philippine accounting practices is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Able to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
