Bar Supervisor

Role

The Bar Supervisor supports the Bar Manager in overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring consistent beverage quality, smooth service flow, and elevated guest experiences in a fine‑dining environment. The role supervises bartenders, maintains operational standards, assists with training and inventory control, and acts as the key link between the Head Bartender and Bar Manager to ensure seamless bar performance.

Reporting to: Bar Manager                                                     

Key Responsibilities

 Operational Supervision

  • Oversee daily bar setup, service flow, and closing procedures.
  • Ensure bar mise‑en‑place, cleanliness, and hygiene meet fine‑dining standards.
  • Support the Bar Manager in enforcing SOPs, service guidelines, and responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Step in to lead the bar during the Bar Manager’s absence.

 Beverage Quality & Execution

  • Prepare and serve beverages with precision, consistency, and premium presentation.
  • Ensure bartenders follow recipes, garnishing standards, and service timing.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout service to maintain beverage excellence.

 Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise bartenders and barbacks, ensuring smooth coordination and teamwork.
  • Assist in training new staff on beverage preparation, service etiquette, and product knowledge.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to maintain consistency and elevate team performance.
  • Lead pre‑shift briefings when required.

  Guest Experience

  • Engage with guests professionally, offering recommendations and personalized service.
  • Handle guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to the Bar Manager when necessary.
  • Support the creation of a warm, refined, and memorable bar experience.

 

 

 

 Inventory & Stock Control

  • Assist with stock monitoring, requisitions, and daily consumption tracking.
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of beverages and garnishes.
  • Help minimize wastage through portion control and accurate pouring.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts.

Menu Support & Innovation

  • Collaborate with the Head Bartender and Bar Manager on new cocktails and seasonal menus.
  • Provide feedback on beverage performance, guest preferences, and menu improvements.

Self-Learning & Development

  • Engage in Training Sessions when required
  • Develop detailed product knowledge
  • Be fully committed and dedicated to personal development and growth, working toward the achievement of performance targets on agreed periodic basis

Pre-requisites

  • 2–4 years of bartending experience, including supervisory or senior bartender roles.
  • Strong mixology skills and knowledge of premium spirits, wines, and beverage trends.
  • Experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, or premium cocktail bars preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and guest‑interaction skills.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (preferred).
