Role Description This full-time, on-site CNC Tool Setter / Tooling Technician role is based in Qatar and supports the efficient operation of CNC machines within Suhail Industrial Holding Group’s production facilities. The role involves setting up and adjusting tooling for CNC equipment, selecting appropriate tools, holders, and inserts according to job specifications, and verifying that setups comply with safety and quality standards.

Daily tasks include inspecting tools for wear or damage, performing minor tool maintenance, and coordinating with machine operators and production supervisors to minimize downtime. The technician will interpret technical drawings and work orders, maintain organized tool inventories, and document tooling parameters to support repeatable and optimized machining processes.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC tooling and setup skills, including selecting, installing, and adjusting cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for various machining operations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions relevant to machining and tooling requirements.
• Knowledge of machining principles, materials (especially non-ferrous metals and plastics), cutting speeds, feeds, and basic CNC programming parameters.
• Experience with tool inspection, measurement, and maintenance using common metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, machine cleanliness, and adherence to quality control procedures in an industrial environment.
• Basic computer literacy for logging tooling data, maintaining records, and using manufacturing or inventory systems.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with machine operators, engineers, and supervisors to resolve tooling issues.
• Previous experience as a CNC tool setter, tooling technician, or similar role in manufacturing or metalworking; recycling or industrial production experience is an advantage.
• Technical diploma, vocational training, or equivalent experience in machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness to work on-site in Qatar and adapt to a fast-paced, shift-based production environment.
