Communications Writer & Public Relations Specialist - Entry Level

We're seeking a communications professional to develop and execute integrated communications strategies that build visibility, reputation, and influence across multiple audiences.

In this role, you'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive earned media campaigns, develop thought leadership platforms, create compelling brand narratives, and execute communications programmes that strengthen engagement across a professional network. You'll be responsible for identifying unique perspectives, shaping compelling stories, cultivating media opportunities, and translating strategic objectives into communications that generate measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Communications Strategy

• Lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategy, supporting network growth, reputation management, brand awareness, and thought leadership programmes• Identify and develop compelling narratives that position leadership and professionals as trusted voices on industry trends• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing expert counsel on messaging, positioning, and reputation management• Develop executive communications platforms, including speaking opportunities, events, opinion articles, and industry engagement strategies• Create and oversee high-impact content including leadership messaging, newsletters, speeches, and related materials

Network Communications

• Lead communications initiatives that engage, inform, and inspire a national network of professionals• Oversee planning, creation, and distribution of network communications, ensuring content is timely and aligned with brand priorities• Build processes to incorporate feedback and analytics to continuously improve communications effectiveness

Media & Agency Management

• Drive earned media programmes across top-tier and trade media outlets to increase brand visibility• Transform proprietary insights into newsworthy stories and compelling content• Manage external PR partnerships, establishing clear objectives and expectations• Develop integrated media strategies and localized storytelling opportunities• Identify proactive media opportunities tied to market trends, brand milestones, and consumer insights• Prepare executives and professionals for interviews and speaking engagements

Skills/background needed:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, brand communications, or integrated marketing communications. Demonstrated success leading national PR programmes and media relations initiatives. Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills. Experience advising senior leaders and managing cross-functional teams. Strong project management and organisational abilities. Experience managing external agency partners. Strategic thinking with sound judgment and strong attention to detail. Experience in real estate, franchising, lifestyle, or consumer brands is preferred but not required.

Rate:Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length:Full-time, permanent position.

Location:On-site position. Based at the workplace in New Jersey or New York City.
