Delivery Van Driver/Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and reliable van delivery driver/Warehouse assistant to join our dynamic team. Our company delivers bottled beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks, and kegged beer to licensed establishments throughout London and the Home Counties. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations while also assisting with warehouse operations. The position may involve some heavy lifting, but your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will contribute to smooth deliveries and seamless coordination within the warehouse environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a fast-paced logistics operation, helping us meet customer expectations with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial van to deliver products to customers and clients, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
  • Load, unload, and organise merchandise in the warehouse, ensuring items are handled with care and stored properly
  • Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, stock replenishment, and order picking
  • Perform heavy lifting of packages and materials as needed, maintaining proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
  • Communicate clearly with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation for all shipments

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving
  • The right to work a full time job legally in the UK
  • Experience driving a 3.5T loaded vehicle in and around London
  • A Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans or similar vehicles preferred
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws applicable to commercial vehicles
  • Prior warehouse experience is desirable, including familiarity with picking orders and heavy lifting tasks
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and customers
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety standards at all times
