Digital Forensics Specialist
Role Description This part-time hybrid role as a Digital Forensics Specialist at Région académique de Guadeloupe is based in Abu Dhabi, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The specialist collects, preserves, and analyzes digital evidence from various systems and devices, ensuring strict chain-of-custody and documentation standards. Daily responsibilities include conducting forensic examinations, preparing clear reports, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and, when required, external authorities. The role collaborates with cybersecurity and information security teams to support incident response, identify root causes, and recommend remediation measures. The specialist also contributes to improving digital investigation procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tools and techniques, and supporting training and awareness activities related to digital evidence handling. Qualifications - Strong forensic analysis capabilities, including experience with digital evidence collection, preservation, and examination. - Demonstrated analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets and drawing accurate, well-documented conclusions. - Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and common attack vectors, with the ability to support incident response and threat investigations. - Understanding of information security practices, policies, and standards, particularly in the context of education or public-sector environments. - Familiarity with industry-standard digital forensics tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, or similar) and basic scripting or automation skills. - Relevant degree or professional certification in digital forensics, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field (e.g., GCFE, GCFA, CHFI) preferred. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports for non-technical audiences. - High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
