Freelance Graphic Designer, Brand & Campaigns

Freelance Graphic Designer, Brand & Campaigns About Original Duckhead Original Duckhead is a London-based, B Corp-certified design brand, best known for our distinctive premium umbrellas. We believe products for changing weather can be functional, sustainable and genuinely joyful to use. As the brand grows, we are building a distinctive visual world around Original Duckhead across our campaigns, e-commerce, advertising, wholesale and wider brand communications. We have recently evolved our brand identity and are looking for a talented freelance Graphic Designer to help us bring it to life consistently and creatively. The Role This is not a rebranding project and we are not looking for a Creative Director. The brand strategy, identity and core visual language are already established. We are looking for a strong midweight designer who can take those foundations and turn them into polished, distinctive commercial creative. You will work across campaign photography, digital advertising, e-commerce, email, lookbooks and other brand touchpoints. Some briefs will be straightforward execution. Others will require you to think creatively about how campaign imagery, typography, colour and graphic elements can come together in a way that feels unmistakably Original Duckhead. We want someone who can work within an established brand system without making the output feel templated. What You'll Do - Develop campaign artwork across digital and physical touchpoints - Turn campaign photography into finished advertising and brand creative - Create paid social and digital advertising assets - Develop typography and graphic treatments for photography - Design website graphics, homepage assets and campaign landing page creative - Create seasonal and launch-focused e-commerce treatments - Design lookbooks, sales materials and brand presentations - Create email and newsletter design assets - Produce social and digital content - Design retail, wholesale and event collateral - Support occasional packaging and print projects - Resize and adapt creative across formats while maintaining a high design standard - Help us build greater consistency across the way Original Duckhead shows up visually Simple motion or animation skills would be a bonus, but are not essential. About You You are a strong midweight graphic designer with an excellent eye for typography, composition, photography and brand. You understand how to work with an established identity and extend it thoughtfully rather than simply applying a logo and colour palette. You are comfortable taking a strong campaign photograph and thinking about how it should become an advert, website treatment, email, lookbook page or piece of social content. You are both creative and practical. You enjoy developing ideas, but you are equally happy executing, adapting and delivering finished artwork. Experience working with fashion, beauty, lifestyle, culture or design-led consumer brands would be particularly relevant. Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills are important. Figma experience would also be valuable. The Opportunity Original Duckhead is at an exciting stage of growth. As we expand the brand and our product universe, we want the quality and consistency of our visual communications to grow with us. This role will work closely with our internal team and is intended to become an ongoing freelance relationship with someone who gets to know the brand deeply over time. Location & Engagement Freelance and part-time. We anticipate approximately one day per week initially, with additional work around key campaigns, product launches and seasonal periods. Remote working is welcome, with UK or Europe preferred. Occasional collaboration at our London studio would be valuable. Rate: £40 to £50 per hour, depending on experience. To Apply Please send your portfolio, hourly rate and availability. We would particularly like to see three examples showing how you have taken an existing brand identity, campaign photography or creative concept and developed it into finished commercial design across different formats. We are less interested in standalone logo or branding projects. We want to see how you bring a brand to life.
