General Manager – Luxury Resort, Napa Valley

We are seeking an inspirational, commercially astute and highly accomplished General Manager to lead the continued success of one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated luxury resorts.

Set amidst the vineyards and rolling hills of California’s renowned wine country, this exceptional property combines world-class hospitality, outstanding dining, wellness and an extraordinary sense of place. The Opportunity

As General Manager, you will be the strategic and operational leader of the resort, working closely with the Executive Committee and Department Heads to deliver exceptional guest experiences, outstanding colleague engagement and strong financial performance.

This is a highly visible leadership position for an executive who understands what it takes to operate at the very highest level of luxury hospitality. You will have the commercial instinct to maximise performance, the leadership presence to inspire a talented team and the passion to ensure every aspect of the guest journey reflects the resort’s distinctive character and brand.

You will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the resort’s reputation as one of the world’s leading luxury destinations, whilst identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and continued improvement.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide strategic leadership across all areas of resort operations, ensuring exceptional standards of service and alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Executive Committee and leadership team, creating a culture built around excellence, accountability and genuine hospitality.
  • Champion an elevated luxury service culture, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience at every guest touchpoint.
  • Take full ownership of commercial and financial performance, overseeing budgets, profitability, forecasting and operational efficiencies to maximise results.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Revenue teams to strengthen market positioning, increase market share and maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee and continuously enhance the resort’s rooms, food & beverage, guest experience and wider operational offering.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement, ensuring the resort continues to evolve while retaining its distinctive identity.
  • Foster an engaging and high-performance workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to deliver exceptional service.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership, management and key stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with the long-term reputation and success of the resort.
  • Ensure the resort consistently exceeds guest expectations while delivering strong and sustainable returns for ownership and management.

About You

You will be an exceptional hospitality leader with a proven track record within Forbes Five-Star or equivalent luxury resort environments.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Significant experience as a General Manager, Resort Manager or senior executive within a world-class luxury hotel or resort.
  • A successful track record leading complex, high-end leisure operations with multiple revenue streams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to drive profitability, revenue growth and operational performance.
  • Broad expertise across rooms, food & beverage, guest experience and luxury resort operations.
  • Outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach and develop diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Revenue, Sales and Marketing functions to optimise overall business performance.
  • A sophisticated understanding of luxury guests and the ability to create experiences that are both highly personalised and consistently exceptional.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, people and creating memorable experiences.
  • The confidence, presence and emotional intelligence to represent an internationally recognised luxury destination.
  • Eligibility to work in the USA.
