Job Description

The Centre for Professional and Part-time Learning requires a Multimedia Developer – part time support contract, remote work

Durham College is seeking experienced and motivated professionals who share our commitment to quality and student success. The Centre for Professional and Part-time Learning requires contract multimedia developers for various online courses. Reporting to the Director of Program Quality and Development, the Multimedia Developer will be responsible for designing online materials to support lessons and assessments.

Activities:

  • Design appropriate learning materials for technology mediated learning with direction from members of the development team;
  • Implement the principles of Universal Design for Learning during design of materials;
  • Create and produce video material;
  • Develop infographics and curate photographic imagery as appropriate;
  • Ensure that all multimedia assets have the proper level of accessibility as required by AODA and WCAG2.0;
  • Ensure all materials are compliant and follow copyright law.



Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three year diploma/degree in Multimedia, Video Production, Graphic Design and/or Web Development;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in multimedia design and a solid background in video production and design;
  • Experience in corporate training and development a significant asset;
  • Technical capabilities including: advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, advanced knowledge of video and audio creation;
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline 360 an asset;
  • Creativity in multimedia layouts and design, knowledge of colour and design theory, and graphic design techniques;
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and participate in consultative decision making;
  • The demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines;
  • The organizational skills to take a project from an initial idea through delivery, working under pressure, with minimal supervision.
