Role Description The Optometrist – DHA Eligibility role is a full-time, on-site position based in the United Arab Emirates within Lutfi Group’s optical business. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health evaluations, using appropriate diagnostic equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities include prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, advising on lens options and visual aids, and providing patient education on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans. The role involves maintaining accurate and compliant patient records, adhering to DHA regulations and clinical protocols, and collaborating closely with optical retail staff to ensure a high-quality customer experience. The Optometrist will also support continuous improvement in clinical standards, participate in product selection discussions, and contribute to promoting best practices in visual care within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Optometrist with DHA eligibility or registration, holding a recognized degree in Optometry or a related field.
  • Strong clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health screening.
  • Ability to interpret diagnostic tests, identify common ocular conditions, and refer patients appropriately when needed.
  • Excellent patient communication skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses, treatments, and product options clearly and empathetically.
  • Experience working in an optical retail or clinical eye care environment, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
  • Knowledge of DHA regulations, clinical documentation standards, and infection control procedures.
  • Proficiency in using optometric equipment and basic clinic management or EHR software.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, retail, and management teams.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic or additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to work on-site in the United Arab Emirates and adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
