Practice Description

Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is the fastest-growing independent private practice in the country, with over 100 radiologists joining in the past year alone, bringing our total to over 230. RIA is a fiercely independent, exclusively physician-owned practice built for resilience through diverse business ventures and advanced technology. In addition to being a top-tier clinical practice, RIA operates as a tech startup with its own software development arm, creating custom computer-vision AI applications and commercializing clinical communication services, remote MRI scanning, and MSO products.

We offer partnership in our teleradiology division, Select Radiology Solutions (SRS), which currently has over 50 radiologists. We have a winning combination of social group culture and the latest technology which results in low turnover, smooth efficiency, and strong compensation allowing for work-life balance. Our system enforces no cherry-picking and has no manipulated software case assignments that most other practices deceptively advertise with higher rates.

With lots of radiologists on staff and a full-time scheduler to help, shift trades are easily accommodated. No mandatory extra shifts, though extensive internal moonlighting and "hop-on" shifts are available.

Workflow & Technology

  • Stress-Free Reading: Benefit from a collaborative environment with 10+ radiologists on shift simultaneously. A smooth, equitable monitored system prevents "cherry-picking" while utilizing refined templates and dedicated tele-assistants to call out critical results and manage incoming phone calls.
  • Zero List Management: You are not responsible for managing the queue; automatic backup help triggers when volume rises. This highly efficient setup allows readers to average 15 RVUs/hour. Our fastest readers average 35 RVUs/hour.
  • Case Mix: Majority CT, followed by XR, US, and MR. Complex MR studies can be deferred to daytime or subspecialist readers. Time-based value units are utilized to ensure fair case distribution.
  • Our Facilities: Contracts are primarily with rural, non-academic Level 2 and 3 trauma centers and stroke centers. No preliminary or international reads.
  • IT & Tech Stack: Enjoy 24/7 in-house IT support with immediate remote assistance. Our system features AWS and Azure cloud hosting for exceptionally fast remote connections.
    • Standard Tech Stack: Fujifilm Synapse, PowerScribe, Clario worklist, and RadAI.
    • Future Tech: We are currently co-developing proprietary software in partnership with VytalMed and multiple AI startups, integrating advanced computer vision AI to drive upcoming productivity gains.

Culture & Perks

  • Connected Culture: Stay connected and avoid isolation with an active group messaging chat used for casual banter, clinical second opinions, and general camaraderie.
  • Work-from-Vacation Homes: When not in use by partners, complimentary luxury destination properties in Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Park City, Utah; Las Vegas; Scottsdale, AZ; and Gainesville, Georgia. Each home is fully equipped with an identical diagnostic workstation, allowing you to easily read shifts while traveling with family.
  • Experience: Prior post-residency experience/fellowship is preferred, but highly talented recent graduates are welcome.
