VP, Application Development - Core Payments

<p>Discover Financial Services is looking for a passionate, experienced and results-driven Vice President of Application Development - Core Payments to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, design and development of our core payments platform. As the VP of Application Development - Core Payments, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Discover’s digital payments and payment processing. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong business acumen combined with an extensive background in software development and technology operations. You will have a proven track record of leading successful initiatives, developing innovative solutions and delivering results. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field• 8+ years of experience in software engineering and application development• 5+ years of experience managing, leading, and developing software engineering teams• Experience with enterprise payment systems, gateways, and/or card networks• Experience collaborating with business and functional partners• Experience with Agile/Scrum software development process• Experience with SOA/Microservices architectures • Experience with cloud-based development platforms• Ability to contribute to and drive technical strategy• Proven ability to deliver on-time and on-budget</p><p>Discover Financial Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
